International School of Photoacoustic & Photothermal Phenomena
June 28 - Local: Room
9:00-12.00 - Fundamentals of Photodiagnosis
Principles and applications of vibrational spectroscopy (NIR, FTIR, and Raman) in biological samples. Introduction to sample preparation and data acquisition, data preprocessing, exploratory analysis using Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and development of predictive models using artificial intelligence. Examples of applications in taxonomy, environmental monitoring, disease diagnosis, and vector surveillance.

13:30 - 17:15 - Numerical Simulation of Photothermal and Photoacoustic Effects Using COMSOL Multiphysics: Fundamentals and Applications.
This course introduces finite element modeling of photothermal and photoacoustic phenomena using COMSOL Multiphysics. Topics include simulation of laser-induced temperature changes; generation and propagation of thermoelastic waves in solids and acoustic waves in liquids; radiation pressure effects at material interfaces; and multiphysics modeling of photoacoustic sensors.
