Travel Information for ICPPP23 – Bonito, MS, Brazil

To help you plan your trip to the ICPPP23, we’ve prepared a detailed guide for reaching Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul – one of Brazil’s premier ecotourism destinations.

Arrival airports and travel options. 

Option 1: São Paulo – Guarulhos International Airport (GRU). Most of the international fligths arrives in São Paulo (GRU Airport)

A. Direct flight from São Paulo (GRU) to Bonito (BYO) on Wednesday and saturdays: Sáo Paulo to Bonito: 15:50. Return: Bonito to São Paulo: 17:35

• Airline: LATAM, Flight duration: ~1 hour 45 minutes. Please observe, Bonito is 1h earlier in relation to São Paulo

• Advantage: Most convenient option with a direct connection from Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) to Bonito.

NEW. Due to codeshare agreements between airlines, it is sometimes not possible to find a single ticket from your departure airport to Bonito.

Based on our search, the best option is to book two separate tickets:

1. An international flight from your home airport to São Paulo (GRU), and A domestic flight from GRU to Bonito.

For this itinerary, your international flight should depart your country on June 26 and arrive in São Paulo on June 27 in the morning. This schedule allows you to connect to the GRU–Bonito Latam flight departing at 15:50, arriving in Bonito on Saturday, June 27, at 17:35.

If you arrive at GRU early in the morning on June 27, we recommend going from Terminal 3 (international arrivals) to Terminal 2, which is about a 15-minute walk inside the airport. In Terminal 2, you will find the Slaviero Hotel, located within the airport. It offers small but comfortable rooms, and it is possible to stay for a minimum of 2 hours at a reasonable rate. This is a convenient option to rest before continuing your journey to Bonito.

After that, you will be well rested for your flight and ready to fully enjoy both the conference and your stay in Bonito.

Return: July, 04: Bonito to São Paulo: 17:35. To retrun on July 3 or 5, please see options B or C

B. Every day of the week direct flight from São Paulo (GRU) to Dourados (CGR) and back: NEW (We prefer option B over option C, as the car’s logistics will be based in Dourados. However, regardless of whether option B or C is chosen, we will arrange the transfer to Bonito)  

• Airline: LATAM, Flight duration: ~1:45 minutes. Direct flight at 7:25 arriving 8:10

• Ground transfer to Bonito: ~230 km (approx. 3 hours). We will coordinate van service. It is included in the registration fee

• Advantage: Greater flexibility with multiple international flight options.

C. Direct flight from São Paulo (GRU) to Campo Grande (CGR): Every day

• Airlines: GOL, LATAM, Flight duration: ~1:40 minutes

• Ground transfer to Bonito: ~250 km (approx. 3 hours). We will coordinate van service. It is included in the registration fee

• Latam direct flights (7:30; 12:05, 22:45) --- Gol Flights (21:55)

• Advantage: Greater flexibility with multiple flight options.

Option 2: São Paulo – Congonhas Airport (CGH)

Free shuttle from GRU to CGH is available through GOL Airlines.

• Direct flight to Bonito (BYO):

  • Airline: GOL, Sunday (14:00) Flight duration: ~2 hours, arriving 15:00

Option 3: Campinas – Viracopos Airport (VCP)

1. Direct flight to Bonito (BYO): on Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays. NEW: Daparture 8:20 arriving in Bonito: 9:15 

• Airline: Azul, Flight duration: ~2 hours

NEW. We observed that the best option is to book a separate ticket from your airport (abroad) to Campinas (Viracopos Airport) and a specific ticket from Campinas(Viracopos Airport) to Bonito. For that your flight should leave your country on june 27 and arrive in Campinas on June 28 early in the morning. In this way you will arrive in Bonito on June 28, Sunday, 9:15   

2. Direct flight to Campo Grande (CGR): (8:30; 18:00)

• Airlines: Azul (8:30; 18:00) Flight Duration: ~1:40 hour

• Ground Transfer to Bonito: ~250 km. Van service will be arranged.

• Van service from Campo Grande will be coordinated based on participants’ arrival times.
